" Globos " is a simple convenient little utility which allows you to : It requires microsoft windows operating system (windows 95/98.NT).
It appears as a standard window application composed by, a pop-up menu, a tool bar, two frames, one for displaying catalog view and the other for displaying search results, and finaly a status bar.

new collection New collection :
When you run Globos for the first time, the two frames are empty. So you may create a new collection first by clicking on the second tool bar icon. Globos just ask you to type the name of your collection.
Then the icon of the new collection appears in the top frame.

new folder New folder :
Double-click on the new collection icon, Globos displays its contents, notice that it's empty. So you may create a new folder inside by cliking on the third icon. Then Globos ask you to choose a folder among those of your local drives, it's where Globos will save its data (click here to see the browse for folder dialog).

new catalog New catalog :
Double-click on the new folder, and click on the fourth icon to create a new catalog, Globos will ask you to choose a folder, it is the location where Globos will start scanning for existing files and make an image in *.glo file, notice that network pathes are also valid for scanning.

save Saving changes :
Since you created the new collection, the 6th icon (save) is enable (each time you make a modification on the catalog structure, you may save after) ; and cause you just created a new catalog, Globos will ask you to confirm its name (by default it is "volume-name_volume-ID-number_starting-folder.Glo" ).

search collection Searching :
Now you have at least one catalog, you can perform search thru it. The search window appears to ask you which kind of search you want to perform. Basicaly you enter a string and Globos search for all the files and folders which contain this string in their names. Note that there are differentent search scopes : Collection, Folder, File, and Local (that is : the current folder you are into).
