BEIKS' Find system extension for Palm powered handhelds

I. DESCRIPTION
BEIKS FIND is a replacement of the global search application you use to find emails, contacts and other information in your Palm.

It works around a significant limitation of the built-in search and adds the extra feature of remembering the latest performed searches.

How is your current search limited?

If you happen to remember the final or a middle portion of a phone that you know you stored in your device, and you use the standard "Find" program you will not get what you are looking for, even if the number is really there.

For example, if you look for "456" in "18004562343" you will not find it.

That is, unless BEIKS' Find replacement is installed.

BEIKS Find is not a typical application program. That is, you do not run and use it the same way you use, for example, the Address Book or the BEIKS Dictionaries. Even though it has an icon in the Launcher, you do not start it from there, except once to configure it. It does its job behind the scenes and it pops up instead of the global Search form.


II. INSTALLATION / UN-INSTALLATION
To install BEIKS Find, double-click on the BEIKSFind.prc file and follow the on-screen instructions of Palm Desktop.
Simply put, you install it the same way you install any other application to your handheld.

Upon synchronizing, its icon should appear, with a magnifying glass and a title "BEIKS Find".

You need to activate the program once you install it. To do that, tap its icon. There are two check boxes - one for activating the replacement of the global search form and the other responsible for finding text within text as explained above.

You will typically want both of them checked.

To make sure it works, try searching (with the SEARCH silkscreen button) something in the middle of a word from your Notepad or Address Book. You should also see the drop-down list with last 10 searches in the "Search" dialog.

To deactivate the program, just delete it the same way you would delete any other program. Because this program is more special, it is recommended that you perform a soft reset on the device afterwards. You can do that through the hole at the back of the device with the help of a paperclip.


III. FEATURES AND COMPATIBILITY
