THE SPECTRUM GAMES DATABASE ASTEROID ATTACK PUBLISHER Appeared as an article in Your Computer magazine AUTHOR Ian Collier YEAR 1985 DESCRIPTION Clone of arcade game "Asteroids". CONTROLS They keyboard controls are redefinable. INSTRUCTIONS You control a rotating ship in the middle of the screen and have to defend it against the asteroids which float past by shooting at them. A large asteroid divides into two medium sized ones when it is hit; a medium asteroid gives two small ones, and a small one is destroyed when it is hit. Sometimes an alien ship will fly past to mess things up and try to shoot you. For emergencies you have a thruster which causes your ship to move, but it is difficult to stop again afterwards. There is also the hyperspace button which instantly teleports you to a random location, but there are no guarantees that it is a safe location.
