This announces the release of Linux/68k-2.0.25. This release is compatible with the native 2.0.25 kernel. The number of patches is not as large as it often is but I see that as a sign of things are getting better. Here is a list of the most important changes: Jesper Skov: o new SCSI drivers for the CyberStorm MkII and Blizzard 1230IV/1260 SCSI modules. o Addtional cleanups of card detection for the existing Phase 5 boards in order to avoid the FastLane being detected as a CyberStorm etc. John Shifflett: o fixed the no_DMA_use_PIO bug, more proc functionality, and a 'nodma' command-line option. Bernd Harries: o fixed a bug in atari_MIDI.c Roman Hodek: o Documentation/Configure.help: extended some Atari Configure.help entries. o arch/m68k/Makefile: cleaned up the cross compiling stuff. Cross binaries are now called e.g. 'm68k-linux-gcc'. This makes the fewest assumptions about the user's setup, since the binaries can reside in any directory, provided that's in $PATH. Also now utilizing the $(CROSS_COMPILE) variable of the main Makefile. Also, if CONFIG_KERNEL_ELF is not set, correctly m68k-linuxaout-gcc & Co. are used. o drivers/sound/Makefile: Added an empty 'mkscript' target in the m68k part, to make 'make xconfig' happy again :-) o drivers/block/acsi.c: can now be built as a module; kmalloc() converted into __get_free_pages() to save 16k-16 wasted memory. o drivers/block/acsi_slm.c: now a module, too, depending on acsi.o. Geert Uytterhoeven: o made ide.c compile again on the i386. Joerg Dorchain: o module support for the existing wd33c93 based drivers (A2091, A3000 and GVP). If you use kerneld, you may want to add a line like alias scsi_hostadapter gvp11 to your /etc/conf.modules to let the magic happen. o fixed DMA direction bug in the wd33c93 driver. Myself: o various minor patches (well I gotta write something ;-) o updated the description for gvp11 in kernel-options.txt. The new kernel as well as a set of pre-compiled kernels, one for the Atari and one for the Amiga (vmlinux-2.0.25-Atari.tar.gz and vmlinux-2.0.25-Amiga.tar.gz respectively) are available at SunSITE.auc.dk, under /pub/os/linux/680x0/v2.0. These files will hopefully be available at the mirrors in a day or two. 11/15/96 Jes Sorensen (jds@kom.auc.dk).
