Ops... since I did'n test the automatic_v1.3.tcl the last time after I updated something on it before I uploaded it, the 1.3 has a small error in it. Please use the 1.3a! This TCL script can be found at ftp.sodre.net, or you will find it at http://home.bigblue.no/unix/tcl/ The file name is: automatic_v1.3.tcl.gz New to 1.3 is: - The script will now not act on a user using different char sizes in the nick than what is in the bot's user file. - Added a new DCC CHAT / TELNET command. It's .altnick. This makes it more easy for you to add alternative nicks to a user. - You may now configure how the bot shall greet a user: hi, hey, +++ What does automatic_v1.3.tcl do? - Well, the name says a lot. It does a lot of things automatically for you. Like adding new users, adding new idents to users. Letting users who change they're nick select it as a new main nick or alternative nick very easy and fast. It can greet users when they join a channel. And it has a lot of other functions that I think is useful, and that is useful for me. Why did I make this TCL script? - After installing 1.3.5 after using 1.2.0 for some while, I didn't want to use the old user database which I had started using from 1.0p. I therefor delete the old user file, and started making a new one. I soon saw that this would take a long time, so I made a TCL script which automatically added new users when they first join a channel. This gave my bot 400 users in 3 week! And I soon realized that there would be to much work for me to keep this user database updated all the time. I therefor added the function that allow users to do changes their nick at the bot in a very simple and easy way. And after a while, a added some other function, one after another, and I ended up with the first version. If you download and start using this TCL script, I would very much like it to get a mail form you. It is always great to get feedback, and it would make me want do keep on making new versions. Please mail me if you have any question about "automatic_v1.3.tcl" or something else for that matter. / Christian Felde
