I don't know what to think of the latest
CodyCam image.
That windows license is a little frightening...
Oh god now look what they have. "It's worse than any of you could guess." One curious observation is that somebody has changed the window Decor to Windows98 Style...odd. I'm scared mommy...

Opensound drivers for BeOS
Posted yesterday by Landslide @ 02:58 PM PST, contributed by Mark Gutzwiller
|
Mark writes:
After seeing the SciTech Display Doctor article, I wondered about sound divers for BeOS. 4Front Technology makes sound drivers for UNIX systems like Linux, the *BSD's, Solaris and others. So, I asked them if they had any plans on supporting BeOS. This is the response from Dev Mazumdar, President of 4front:
"We have plans to support BeOS in the fall. Rightnow, BeOS 4 is severly
lacking features like select() and poll() which are very commonly used
in OSS applications. These apps will not work. We've been told that 4.1
and subsequent releases of BeOS will have more POSIX features and thus
until such time, it's not going to be feasible for us to do a port.
But we are committed to the BeOS platform."
The URL for 4front is www.opensound.com. Sound hardware supported can be found here.

Posted 03.06.99 by MrJones @ 11:55 PM PST, contributed by Andrew Bazan
|
Andrew has released BeNibblix v1.0 for R4/Intel tonight. It's a pretty straightforward (and fun) clone of Nibbles for the BeOS. It has 20 levels right now and some other settings to play with. It can be downloaded direct from my website here until it shows up on BeWare. Any feedback or bug reports would be greatly appreciated!

Road Runner client update
Posted 03.06.99 by MrJones @ 09:06 PM PST, contributed by Justin C. Sherrill
|
rrlms, a client to allow Road Runner cable modem users to get online with BeOS, has been updated to version 1.5. It's available here
New in this version:
- no more .pid wierdness
- better documentation
- possible support for Austin and Ohio users! It may work for other new/recently updated Road Runner areas too. (feedback wanted)
This is, of course, in no way official or even unofficial support for BeOS from Road Runner.
