Short: Montage of ~900 Amiga Game Boxes (Large) Author: buzz@amigascne.org (BuZz) Uploader: buzz amigascne org (BuZz) Type: pix/misc Architecture: generic Large (2000x18000) version of the Amiga Game Montage A huge montage of the artwork from about 900 Amiga game boxes. Each scan is scaled to fit in a 200x200 pixel area. The image is about 2000x18000 pixels in size and will require virtual memory or a program like ImageFX to view on low memory or AGA amigas. The JPG is saved with 85% quality, and requires ~110 Meg of memory for the raw 24bit data. The picture is a perfect visual history of Amiga gaming and displays titles from 1986-1996. It was created on an a1200/030 with 10 meg of ram and 1gig of virtual memory using the latest version of the great image manipulation software ImageMagick. (Running under AmigaOS ofcourse) The images were scaled from hires versions which can be found on the gallery section of my ExoticA website. http://exotica.amigascne.org (some problems with this server) and http://hangar18.campus.luth.se/exotica On the website each scan is thumbnailed and also contains the complete author information for the game including cover artist. Links to the music for many of the games are also included. I have recently seen a few icon collections appearing for games. If there is interest I could quite easily create newicons from each image with a small amount of scripting. There has been 1 previous icon set on Aminet which has icons based on the images from ExoticA. It would have been nice if the person had asked before doing it. After all, it has taken 1.5 years of hard work to scan the images and gather all the information. Anyway, the most important thing is that you enjoy the pics.
